What events in history did the Mayan calendar predict to occur??

I am writing a 4000 word essay on how accurate the Mayan calendar is. (In the past....not talking about doomsday or the end of the world)





1) I need as many events as you can think of that the Mayan calendar predicted to occur.





2) I need to know where on the calendar it talks about this event.





3) I need to know what you think about the Mayan calendar and if you feel that it is ok to believe in whatever it predicts.

The Mayan calendar is astronomical in nature, not a Nostradamus-style horoscope.
