I desperately need three events that made the news in 1984.?

I have to write a speech for my speech class that contains the following things:

A world event that occurred in the year 1984.

An event that happened in the United States in 1984.

An event that took place in the state of Michigan in the year 1984.

I haven't been able to find any good information on the internet, especially for Michigan. And does anyone know where I can find details because I need to find enough info to help me write the speech.

Any events that you could remember would really help. Thanks!
