In second place the short military coup against Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev and the beginning of the collapse of the USSR and The Warsaw Pact. In third place probably the collapse of Yugoslavia and the beginning of the Balkan Wars in Slovenia and Croatia.





The number one US event is probably the Rodney King beating video in LA, followed by the arrest of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.
