What are some fun events to hold in a bar?
I am a 23 year old female who is a bar manager and college student. The bar that I work at is a dive, however, in recent years I have held various events like testical festivals etc to spice up our revenu. This year we are holding a few more events however, people are expecting me to go above and beyond with some fun, different, and unique reasons to party all day. I have been thinking of a tarts and vicars party, and a pinps and hoe's party but the bar is in the middle of Illinois and people area little reserved and hoosier. So i need some help from you all to tell me about some bar events you have been to charity or otherwise. Please give me some ideas!!
What are some fun events to hold in a bar?
I'm 30 and I've run bars for the past 9 years in Georgia. Here's different events I've done. I did a dating game where I had a Falcons cheerleader, I had a little girl (10) go through and pick guys out she thought were cute and get their ID's. She brought them to me and I chose 4 top guys and of course a decoy, a friend of mine for laughs. I'd ask each bachelor a series of questions, then I'd walk around and let random people ask questions. At the end, the crowd, by applause, picks the winner. I payed for them to have dinner for two at one of the restaurants I did a swap out with. Other events, dress up parties- pick a decade pick a theme or even pick a movie. Have a gong show. I did that for a solid 6 months straight. Invite all people who think they have talent to prove it at my bar. If they sucked, I bought a huge gong and gonged them. Dating auctions for charity, that always works. Eating contests. I was just in Chicago and a bar had jello wrestling. Reply:Well, since they are reserved that pimps and hoes might actually work. break from their shell kinda thing for just one night BUT who knows... , Maybe have a themed night like 80's dress up or favorite movie criminal night... we had that here( sacramento,ca) and a lot of people came as tony montana from scarface lol. ummm as far as the themed thing... to encourage it more... maybe give a discount to people that actually dress up for the theme. You could try a jello or body shots night, or start a free snack food buffet to draw in more people and keep them there.

Reply:If you are in an area where there are several bars within walking distance you could get them involved too, and have either a poker run or a scavenger hunt. Both would be lots of fun if you are in the college area. I'm sure college students would love it. Just have them get either a playing card (to ultimately make the best poker hand) from all the participating bars, or an unusual item from a list for the scavenger hunt. Have the game start and finish at your bar. They do have to be within walking distance or have some designated drivers for obvious reasons. I did both of these things several times from a bar I managed and everyone had lots of fun.

i hate events like Newyear Valentine ....etc i don't know why i get so depressed just to know that an event is coming by . ...is this normal !!!

This is a purely personal opinion: Yes, it is normal. I have been dealing with depression for about 10 years now. And every christmas, valentines, and my birthday, it gets harder to manage those feeling of loneliness and sadness. If you can, try to see your MD or Therapist right before these events and let them know your having more trouble during these times. Maybe they can suggest support groups or other things to give you the extra help during thes times. If not, then just keep busy and in good company. Spend lots of time just hanging out with your friends.

As to New Year you should look towards that day as "laying to rest all the unhappy events of the past year" and starting a Year with a fresh outlook on life. We as human beings tend to look at the worst because the happy times are over clouded by the sad times in our life. Valentine, shouldn't be an unhappy event since it's made for those who have that love in their life. I will not give up on finding love in this world. During this event could you not show someone special in your life, doesn't have to be someone close to you, just someone like a store clerk or a receptionist who's always welcomed you with a smile, couldn't you recognize them as being very special people in your life and showing them some form of appreciation for the good feelings they've given you?

I live in England in the uk and i am waiting for the pokemon events (Darkrai, Arceus %26amp; Shaymin). i know i have to get them through mystery gift and i have a wireless router but does anyone know when these events will be happening? any hints on sites or anything will be greatly appreciated.

hey im from england too but the events aren't going to come to the UK for another year or two but you know what you should do go to argos but action replay which is only £20 and trust me it is worth it 100% worth it so get it once you've got it install the program on your computer then click update then right click in the box on the bottem right hand corner then click new cheat and copy and past this code Level 100 Wild Shiny Pokemon Modifier:

A nintendo event, is a kind of a promo that nintendo does so you can get cool out of the ordinary pokemon. So far, i have not heard of any nintendo events for diamond/pearl. Mystery gift is gotten from a person in the jubilife tv station. I think that man is on the third floor. Talk to an interviewer and e'll ask you questions, regardless of what he askes, put in, Happy everyone( or everyone happy, or enjoy everyone, most likely happy everyone though.) and wifi connection for the next question. THen save, and the next time you turn on your game, on the menu mystery gift will be one of the options, as will continue and new game. Why don't calendar events appear on my yahoo homepage anymore?
Until recently, calendar events were listed below calendar on homepage. Not anymore. Says to sign up for calendar to see events. I am signed up. Have searched for changes/options, but can't find any. Anyone know the magic to getting my events list back?

I live in England in the uk and i am waiting for the pokemon events (Darkrai, Arceus %26amp; Shaymin). i know i have to get them through mystery gift and i have a wireless router but does anyone know when these events will be happening? any hints on sites or anything will be greatly appreciated.

They do not see all of the events that happen, no matter how good or bad, are part of His plan. They ask, "why do events like September 11th happen?" and I tell them that God is telling us things when these events happen. I said for September 11th, if that did not happen, how else would we open our eyes to terrorism around the globe? On September 11th, God was telling us we need to better protect our citizens or more people might die in a future attack. And He was also telling us how hatred is destroying us. WWII happened because of a man full of hatred and God was showing us how bad hatred is and where it leads us. During Hurricane Katrina, God was telling us we need to listen to warnings given to us. You see? All these events are the the ways in which God is giving us warnings and trying to teach us lessons. We hardly ever learn from these lessons, so these events keep happening. The lives lost are nothing compared to the lives we can lose if we don't listen to God's warnings

What are some fun events to hold in a bar?
I am a 23 year old female who is a bar manager and college student. The bar that I work at is a dive, however, in recent years I have held various events like testical festivals etc to spice up our revenu. This year we are holding a few more events however, people are expecting me to go above and beyond with some fun, different, and unique reasons to party all day. I have been thinking of a tarts and vicars party, and a pinps and hoe's party but the bar is in the middle of Illinois and people area little reserved and hoosier. So i need some help from you all to tell me about some bar events you have been to charity or otherwise. Please give me some ideas!!
What are some fun events to hold in a bar?
I'm 30 and I've run bars for the past 9 years in Georgia. Here's different events I've done. I did a dating game where I had a Falcons cheerleader, I had a little girl (10) go through and pick guys out she thought were cute and get their ID's. She brought them to me and I chose 4 top guys and of course a decoy, a friend of mine for laughs. I'd ask each bachelor a series of questions, then I'd walk around and let random people ask questions. At the end, the crowd, by applause, picks the winner. I payed for them to have dinner for two at one of the restaurants I did a swap out with. Other events, dress up parties- pick a decade pick a theme or even pick a movie. Have a gong show. I did that for a solid 6 months straight. Invite all people who think they have talent to prove it at my bar. If they sucked, I bought a huge gong and gonged them. Dating auctions for charity, that always works. Eating contests. I was just in Chicago and a bar had jello wrestling. If you really want to brainstorm let me know, I've got a million things I've done or have planned. Let me know, doccurtisbuster@yahoo.com

Reply:Well, since they are reserved that pimps and hoes might actually work. break from their shell kinda thing for just one night BUT who knows... , Maybe have a themed night like 80's dress up or favorite movie criminal night... we had that here( sacramento,ca) and a lot of people came as tony montana from scarface lol. ummm as far as the themed thing... to encourage it more... maybe give a discount to people that actually dress up for the theme. Good luck

But, considering that it's a dive in the middle of nowhere, I can't think of anything in particular I would want to celebrate there. You could try a jello or body shots night, or start a free snack food buffet to draw in more people and keep them there.

Reply:If you are in an area where there are several bars within walking distance you could get them involved too, and have either a poker run or a scavenger hunt. Both would be lots of fun if you are in the college area. I'm sure college students would love it. Just have them get either a playing card (to ultimately make the best poker hand) from all the participating bars, or an unusual item from a list for the scavenger hunt. Have the game start and finish at your bar. They do have to be within walking distance or have some designated drivers for obvious reasons. Have the game start and finish at your bar. They do have to be within walking distance or have some designated drivers for obvious reasons. I did both of these things several times from a bar I managed and everyone had lots of fun.

What track and field events should I do?
Well I am a high school freshman, here's some information that may be helpful in deciding what event I should do. Please hurry with responses, my first meet is in a week!!!
1. My farthest shot put is 20 feet (this is what event I am thinking most about doing)
2. I bench 65 lbs.
3. I have tried doing high jump at practice once but I don't think I get it
4. I am 5'6'' and 185 lbs..I am a girl
5. I run 400 meters in 1:39 seconds :(
6. I have horrible endurance
7. I am a slow learner

Office party events - WHY??
I'm 35, and I work for a billing department for a medical company, but for some strange reason our department is the ONLY department that plans events. I would'nt mind so much, but their ideas are really, really lame. They get their event ideas mostly from GRANDPA. (ex. This past summer they hosted a Gong Show party. Now their going to do a pie eating contest for Halloween) I'm not the only one who's tired of these things, but most of the other employees, just do it for the hell of it. I mostly figure they do these things to keep their employees happy. Can anyone else explain why they need to do this?

Or it could be because they don't have much of a life outside of work and want to celebrate things together.
I'd say if you don't like the idea, then don't go, or just make a cameo appearance and duck out after an hour or so claiming to have other commitments.
Maybe you could suggest something better when you hear their silly ideas and make it worth your while. But don't be too nasty, as silly as their ideas are, some one actually put a lot of work into the planning of these parties.

In the 90s I went to a few consecutive shows. For example I went to a house event in nashville, followed by in your house ppv in louisville, ky. Shawn Michaels vs Owen Hart was on both cards, and both matches were almost identical, with the same ending. Do WWE events still have the same matches and finishes, around the country?

Worded oddly I know, sorry. Anyway, I am developing some ideas for a new business in my area. Do you have any events, birthdays, weddings, company parties, or just a family gathering. Most displays would start around a hundred dollars, but of course, could be as elaborate as can be afforded. Is this a good idea, or would regular people like fireworks at their events?

After giving it some thought, I took a quick peek at his past questions. Amongst the hundreds of McCann questions there are some real nuggets. In part of my response, I said that I couldn’t be bothered trawling his past questions, but felt sure that he had, in the past, asked some fairly banal questions in Current Events of the type he (rightly) chooses to deride in his latest question. After giving it some thought, I took a quick peek at his past questions. Amongst the hundreds of McCann questions there are some real nuggets. His one weakness is he seldom come up with any real facts, just bits of rubbish that he has dug up from various press cuttings.Now that it appears that they will soon be freed from being main suspects I am not sure what he will do with his rather narrow life .I just can't see him giving up but will continue his personal crusade to crucify this innocent couple.

Current events is a section for....?
to discuss current events. so why is this place full of negativty towards other users, why can't you put your opinion across without someone insulting or reporting you. and a lot of questions are referring to others users, either in a negative way or admiration of others. current events, just like other subjects are there for everyone. whats with the clique. i don't get it. do you? has the mccan issue divided yahoo or is it basically a popularity contest. to me its schoolyard business and i feel as a responsible adult the best thing to do is withdraw from it altogether. whats your opinion?

So let's start a new trend ok?
Currently: I am involved with a lady in WV who runs the pound there. She puts dog pix on the web and I make the pix lighter or darker as they need it, and I name the dogs and that way they are more likely to be adopted. Been doing that for about 6 years now. A rescue group saw the effort the lady puts into finding the dogs homes, so now they are transporting the dogs to shelters until they are adopted.
Almost none are euthanized now.
I know there is more good current events news out there so tell it to me!

most geologic events happen very slowly. what two geologic events (one land-building and one erosional) could happen fast enough for people to see?

Erosion can be seen all over the place when the soil becomes unprotected (example: The Dust Bowl)

What are some instances in History that you wish could be potrayed to screen in a film adaption. I am particularly looking for little known stories that show forth courage, bravery, terror, and love. Fictional accounts centered on an event are appriciated as well. So many movies are out there, but hardly any anymore show the brevity of life through historical events.
